Where Does The Money Go?

The registration fees go to the Vermont Running Company. Money raised through fundraising will goto support Enough Is Enough VT and their work with addiction recovery providers in Vermont. If this event is inordinately successful and is very well attended we will consider donating a portion of the registration fees to Enough Is Enough and/or reducing the registration fees in future years.

Are Donations Tax Deductible?

Unfortunately… No. Neither the Vermont Running Company nor Enough Is Enough VT is a registered non-profit. In the future we are hoping to find a work around. But, with the short amount of time we had for planning this year, a solution was not readily apparent. 

Why Should I Participate?

Many fixed time events are held on very short courses and even at the local high school track. And when you tell your friends, co-workers, and family members that you’re going to run laps for hours on end they will often say something along the lines of… Why? That sounds so monotonous

Our event is held at a ski resort on a route that is ~2.6 miles long with just over 1000ft of climbing. You’re in the woods, and higher up on the route there are some great views of Mt Mansfield, Camel’s Hump, and the Adirondacks. Now when you tell your friends, co-workers, and family members that your signed up for our event they will say… Why? That sounds so monotonous, and beautiful, and HARD! 

Also, do it for the experience and for the comradery! On a timed loop event like this the pack gets all mixed up. You’ll get to see different people multiple times while out on the course. It’s a much more social experience than a longer loop or point-to-point event. It won’t be easy, but the word on the street is that things worth doing often aren’t. 

Do I Have To Race In Order To Fundraise? 

No. Anyone can fundraise, and we encourage all racers and volunteers to take part. 

If I Race Must I Fundraise? 

No. But, we have tried our best to make participating as a fundraiser as easy and painless as possible both for you and for the people that choose to sponsor you. So, while you do not have to fundraise, we do strongly encourage you to do so. It’s for a very good cause and we promise to do most of the work for you. 

What Happens If The Race Is Cancelled?

In the event that the race is cancelled due to severe weather, or any other reason it will not be rescheduled. The summer race/event schedule is pretty packed already and we do not want to encroach on anyone else’s events. If cancelled we will offer refunds to all registered racers minus 20% to help offset race costs and ensure that we can do this again in the future. That said… A little rain and cool temps will not instigate a cancellation. Safety is our top priority, but we aren’t going to tuck our tails if things aren’t totally perfect. The decision to cancel will be made Thursday before the race by the end of the day and will be communicated via email, social media, and will be posted on the website.
